Tigers Pictures Facts - Habitat
The original home of a tiger is China, but long ago they spread northwards into Siberia, westwards as far as the Caspian Sea, through India and Burma, and south to Sumatra, Java and Bali. These are usually solitary animals except when breeding, when a female is rearing her cubs, or when a group of young ones stay together for a short while after their mother has left them to fend for themselves.
Tigers Pictures Facts - Interesting Facts
Unlike most other cats, tigers enjoy water and when temperatures rise, they bathe to cool off. There are no two tigers that have the same pattern in their stripes. It's just like snowflakes, whale flukes and fingerprints. Tigers walk on their toes and have retractable claws on their paws like that of a housecat. There are five claws on their front feet, and four claws on the back feet. Tiger's back legs are stronger than their front legs; that's why they are good jumpers. Thus, Tigers can jump up to 33 feet in a single leap, depending on the size of the tiger.
